Talkify / Alternatives / FirstVoice AI / Head to head
AI receptionist, agency model · Read off their own pages · Checked October 2026

Why Talkify over FirstVoice AI.

Both of us set it up for you. Compare what you pay after that.

Their comparison page says Talkify is something you build yourself. It is not. We build every Talkify agent for you at no charge, changes after that are free, and we have never billed anyone for setting up or deploying an agent. So the choice is not done-for-you against do-it-yourself: both of us set it up for you. Compare what you pay each month for that, and what you get on the same account.

What each of us publishes.

Not what we think they do, and not what a salesperson said on a call. Their column is what FirstVoice AI states on their own website, read in October 2026. Where they do not publish something, the row says so instead of guessing, because "not published" is a fact about the website and everything else would be a guess about the company.

What to look atFirstVoice AITalkify
Who builds the agent Their team builds the voice, script and calendar connection and tests it with you. Setup is included. We do, on every plan, at no charge. You tell us how you want the phone answered and we build and test it. Nobody has ever been billed for setting up or deploying a Talkify agent.
Changes once you are live A set number of script updates a month on the entry and middle plans, unlimited on the top plan. Free and unlimited on every plan. Ring or email us and we make the change, or make it yourself in the dashboard if you would rather. Your choice, never a requirement.
Trying it first A free personalised demo, then a free two-week trial on your real calls, no credit card. Ring our demo line with no signup, then a free trial that we set up on your own business, no card needed to start.
Contract Month to month. Month to month, no exit fee. The only plan with a term is a custom software integration, because we write code for it. That is a monthly plan for the integration work, not a setup fee.
Where your calls are handled Recordings and transcripts stored in New Zealand on infrastructure they run, stated in writing. During the call the audio is processed in real time by their AI provider. New Zealand and Australian data centres and nowhere else, the live call and transcription included, stated in writing.
How long they have been going Launched in 2025, backed by a New Zealand technology company running since 2002. Answering New Zealand business calls since 2024, built by a Christchurch studio over twelve years old.
Who answers support A direct line to the founder. A New Zealand 0800 number, answered by the people who built it.
Who sells the phone line A new New Zealand number, or forward the one you already have. A local number included with every agent, on our own carrier account, or forward the one you already have.
Your data Recordings and transcripts, any time. Every transcript kept for as long as you are with us and yours to keep when you leave, plus a documented REST API.
What else runs on the same account An AI receptionist, with speed-to-lead and website chat as add-ons. Reception, plus outgoing campaigns, phone surveys, invoice chasing from your own Xero, wellness checks, an on-call roster, a front counter agent and a website chat widget.

Taken from FirstVoice AI's own public pages in October 2026, and from ours. Something changed, or we have described your product wrongly? Tell us and we will correct it. Costs are deliberately not in this table: they live on the comparison table, in one place, with a checked date against them.

The fair bit

Where FirstVoice AI is the better pick.

A business that wants a named person looking after the script every month and a direct line to the founder. They publish their plans, minutes, overage and terms plainly, they let you trial it on your real calls before paying, and some owners simply want to deal with one person they know by name.

We would rather you bought the right thing than bought from us. If the paragraph above describes your situation, go and talk to them, and tell them we sent you.

Ask both of us the same things.

Three questions worth putting to FirstVoice AI before you sign anything. They are not gotchas and they are not accusations: they are the things about this kind of product that cost people money when they find out late.

Question 1.

How many script changes a month your plan includes, since the entry plan publishes a set number and the unlimited tier is the top one.

Question 2.

Where the live call audio is processed while the call is happening. What they publish about New Zealand covers where recordings and transcripts are stored afterwards.

Question 3.

What a busy month costs once you pass the included minutes, which is the arithmetic our cost table does for you.

Now turn them on us. Here are the answers.

A page telling you to interrogate everyone else and then going quiet about itself is worth nothing. So these are ours, written down, and we will put any of them in an email if you want them in writing.

How long have you been going? Talkify has answered New Zealand business calls since 2024. The studio behind it, D3V Services Limited in Christchurch, has been building software for over twelve years and was doing voice and telephony work before Talkify had a name.
Who answers when something is wrong? A New Zealand phone number, in your timezone, answered by the people who wrote the thing. Not a chat widget, and not a reply from another hemisphere in the morning.
Where are my call recordings held? New Zealand data centres. Audio, transcripts and call metadata, stated in writing on the privacy policy rather than implied by a claim about ownership or encryption.
Who sells the phone line? We do. We hold a direct commercial relationship with the New Zealand carrier our numbers ride on, so numbers are provisioned on our own account, the routing is ours to change, and the number stays yours if you leave.
Which integrations are real? All of the ones we name. We keep a hard internal rule that nothing is named on this website until the connector behind it exists and we can point you at it in code, which is why the list is shorter than some.
Is there an API? Yes, a documented REST API with webhooks and Zapier, so whatever we have not built a connector for, you or your developer can.
Is there an app? Yes, iOS and Android, on every plan. Transcripts, summaries and alerts in your pocket rather than in an email you re-read later.

Why Talkify, in plain words.

The people behind it, the integrations we build ourselves, where your calls are handled, and how the agent keeps getting better.

Read what it says

Let's be frank. Plenty of AI receptionists are a prompt, a rented voice and a website, thrown together in a weekend.

Others are overseas answering services, with a local number stuck on the front.

Talkify is neither. It's built and run by a New Zealand team with 80 years' combined experience in phone and contact centre technology.

Network engineers who keep the lines up. Phone specialists who've run voice networks for years. AI specialists who teach the agent to really listen. And developers who plug it into the systems you already use.

Every integration is one we built ourselves, straight into your system. We work with the teams behind those systems, so it's done properly. No middleman, and nothing extra to break.

Your calls are handled in New Zealand and Australian data centres, and nowhere else. Recordings stay off unless you switch them on.

Where security matters, we pay for enterprise-grade services, not the free version. Our infrastructure is backed by an IT partner certified to ISO 27001 and 42001. And we never train AI models on your calls.

We look at how calls actually go: where an agent stumbled, what a caller asked for that it couldn't do yet. Then we fix it.

Talkify agent: And you don't have to be technical. Our assistant sets it up with you.

Talkify agent: Kia ora! Want emergencies after hours put through to whoever's on call? Let me see. Done. I've added it to your agent.

And when you need help, you talk to the people who built it.

Six things that are hard to see on a demo call.

None of them are features, and every one is something you can check rather than something we can claim. They are the reasons this comparison usually turns on something other than the voice.

Each of those is argued out, with what backs it, on the alternatives page, beside every other provider selling into New Zealand. The rest of the platform the fifth of those names, outgoing campaigns, phone surveys, invoice chasing from your own Xero, wellness checks, the on-call roster, the front counter agent and website chat, runs on the same account and the same bill.

And what ours costs.

One price, published, with the allowance and the rate past it published beside it. FirstVoice AI's pricing is not on this page on purpose: competitor prices live in one place on this website, under the date they were last checked, because a figure kept in two places drifts and one of the two starts lying.

Talkify, NZD, plus GST

$129 a month, founding rate.

200 minutes included, then 10c a minute, both published. No setup fee, no lock-in, and no platform fee bolted on top of the minutes. The founding rate holds for your first 3 months and the standard rate after it is $199, printed here rather than discovered on invoice four.

The comparison table works out what 200 minutes of answered calls actually costs on every provider's published pricing, setup fees, monthly platform fees, GST treatment and per-minute overage included. For what FirstVoice AI sells, who it suits and the whole New Zealand market grouped by what each provider actually is, see the FirstVoice AI page and the alternatives.

Frequently asked.

The questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, ring our live demo agent on 03 242 1262, it'll either answer or queue a callback from a human.

What is the difference between Talkify and FirstVoice AI?
Their comparison page says Talkify is something you build yourself. It is not. We build every Talkify agent for you at no charge, changes after that are free, and we have never billed anyone for setting up or deploying an agent. So the choice is not done-for-you against do-it-yourself: both of us set it up for you. Compare what you pay each month for that, and what you get on the same account.
When is FirstVoice AI the better choice?
A business that wants a named person looking after the script every month and a direct line to the founder. They publish their plans, minutes, overage and terms plainly, they let you trial it on your real calls before paying, and some owners simply want to deal with one person they know by name.
What should I ask both of you?
How many script changes a month your plan includes, since the entry plan publishes a set number and the unlimited tier is the top one. Where the live call audio is processed while the call is happening. What they publish about New Zealand covers where recordings and transcripts are stored afterwards. What a busy month costs once you pass the included minutes, which is the arithmetic our cost table does for you. Ask us the same ones. Our answers are on this page and we will put any of them in writing.
Which is cheaper, Talkify or FirstVoice AI?
Competitor prices are not on this page, deliberately. They live on our comparison table with the date they were last checked against them, because a price kept in two places drifts and one of the two starts lying. That page works out what 200 minutes of answered calls costs on every provider's published pricing, with setup fees, monthly platform fees, GST treatment and per-minute overage included.
Where does this information about FirstVoice AI come from?
Their own public pages, read in October 2026. Where they do not publish something we say that rather than guessing, and nothing in the table is a claim about how they run their business. If we have got something wrong about your product, email info@talkify.nz and we will fix it.
Can I hear Talkify before I decide?
Yes, and without handing over your details. Ring 03 242 1262 any time, day or night, and talk to a live Talkify agent in a real New Zealand voice. No form, no card, no follow-up call unless you ask for one. Try to do the same with everyone on your shortlist.
